2. What we collect
From merchants (Shopify shop owners)
- Shop URL, shop ID, and the access scopes you grant on install
- The email address Shopify provides for the installing user, plus any email you submit through support
- Billing information, processed and stored by Shopify — we receive plan and status only
- App usage telemetry: which screens you open, which features you use, errors that occur
- Support ticket content you submit to us
From shoppers who create registries or wishlists
- Name and email used to create the registry
- Registry contents (products, quantities, notes), event details, and any shipping address you provide
- Co-registrant emails you invite
From shoppers who view or buy from a registry
- Name and email if you submit them to access a private registry or place an order
- Purchase data passed through Shopify's checkout

- Session cookies set by Shopify (required for the app to function inside the Shopify admin and for storefront features)

3. How we use the data
- To run the service — render registries, send transactional emails, sync with Shopify

- To improve the product (aggregate, de-identified usage analytics)
- To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and security incidents
4. Who we share data with
- Shopify — required for the app to function. Their privacy policy applies to data they hold on your behalf.
- Email delivery providers — currently {{EMAIL_PROVIDER_NAME}}, used to send transactional emails on behalf of merchants
- Hosting infrastructure — {{HOSTING_PROVIDER}} for application hosting, {{DATABASE_PROVIDER}} for the database
- We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data to third parties
- We will share data when required by law, court order, or to protect our rights
5. Where data is stored
Application data is stored in {{DATA_STORAGE_REGION}}. Data may be transferred to and processed in other regions where our service providers operate, subject to appropriate safeguards.
6. How long we keep data
- While your shop has Listify installed: registries, wishlists, and shop data are retained to operate the service.
- After uninstall: shop data is deleted within {{POST_UNINSTALL_RETENTION_DAYS}} days, except where we are legally required to retain it (for example, billing records).
- Email delivery logs are retained for {{EMAIL_LOG_RETENTION}} for deliverability and abuse-prevention purposes.
- Support ticket content is retained while your account is active and for a reasonable archival period afterwards.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Request a portable copy of your data
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

Shopify also provides standard GDPR webhook flows (customers/data_request, customers/redact, shop/redact) that we honor on the timelines Shopify defines.
8. Security
We use TLS for all data in transit, encrypt sensitive credentials at rest, and limit production access to a small number of authorized people. No system is perfectly secure; if we become aware of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you in line with applicable law.
9. Children
Listify is not directed at children under {{MINIMUM_AGE}}. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be communicated to merchants by email and reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
